2008-09-12 Fishing Report delawareonline The News Journal

Big-game anglers trolling and chunking on the inshore lumps reported good numbers of bluefin tuna, yellowfin, wahoo and dolphin. Anglers fishing the inshore lumps also enjoyed good fishing before the storm moved through the mid-Atlantic region, with reports of bluefin tuna, dolphin and a few real nice wahoo being caught at the Hot Dog, 19-Fathom Lump, Elephants Trunk, Teacup and Hambone. The trick to fooling the bluefins, according to Captain Joe Morris at the Lewes Harbour Marina was trolling ballyhoo on Ilanders way back in the wash. Captain Joes most recent report included bluefins over the 100-pound class for Ray Rockwell, Alan Hiester and Wayne Von Stetten. Reports from trollers working the Hot Dog and the waters just to the east of the Sausage Lumps also included a mix of schoolie yellowfins and a bunch of false albacore.

Its an artifact from a dynasty when Frank Buck was emperor of Buck Ave. Oak shadows stretched long, slender fingers over the V. Museum courtyard. Its how last Saturday wound down and the museums "Ticket to the Twenties" fun fundraising speak-easy opened for business: Bathtub gin (wine) served in teacups under the watchful eye of a Keystone Kop, flappers looking like a "Roaring Twenties"exhibit come to life, and City Council candidate Ron Rowlett in a red zoot suit. I dont know what that portends for politics, but I give him a high five for being a good sport. And, saints be praised, there were auctions, silent and live, the manna of nonprofits. Preserving history takes money. This is how they do it. It was typical, save

The Receptionist" is set in the placid, nondescript "Northeast office" of an unnamed corporate enterprise. Surrounded by her potted plants, antique teacups and stuffed Pound Puppies, receptionist Beverly Wilkins answers phones, goes on croissant runs and generally wastes a good part of her day gossiping on the phone with her girlfriends, taking personal calls from home or yakking about man problems with her distracted, uptight co-worker, Lorraine. Then into their lives walks Martin Dart, a handsome, cheery young executive from the Central Office, whos looking for their boss, Mr. Raymond, who appears to be running late.

Garden ornaments more tasteful than neighbors

Some gardeners take a creative tack by using found objects as quirky ornaments. At the garden of Marcia Donahue, an artist in Berkeley, Calif. , half-buried bowling balls provide a strange kind of ground decor for a stand of bamboo. And in a nearby garden created by Bob Clark, an Oakland designer, broken teacups and bottles are embedded in a wall.

A: For some people, plants arent enough; they feel the need to populate their gardens with concrete puppies, fiddle-playing frogs, stones with Zen inscriptions and cutesy planters. The result can be an eyesore.
