Pleasance, 6pm) seems to find existential angst creeping into the Fringe staple of comedy questing. Powell sets out to find the closest pair of Starbucks in the UK, adopting suitable Alex Horne/Dave Gorman-style PowerPoint presentations and graphs to illustrate his progress. He tells his story with charm, some nice gags and a great big suitcase full of facts and ndash; including that Starbucks was named after a character in Moby-Dick. He admits, however, that there is no real point to the search and ndash; he didn and rsquo;t even do it for a bet and ndash; and the enormous amount of energy wasted inevitably seeps into the material. and ldquo; This was a low point in my life, and rdquo; he says. It and rsquo;s not exactly a high point in comedy either. entertainment.timesonline.co.uk

Im not sure if OSMP has struck the right balance. Recreation is very important to the open space program. Everyone understands the importance of preservation and maintenance, (overzealous recreation does have serious financial impacts to the city in terms of maintenance), however if people are not given what they feel is sufficient access, they are likely not to feel compelled to continue paying for open space which would have dire consequences for the crown jewels of our city. The correct balance is hard to find and subjective, but I think if there is a mistake to be made we should error on the side of recreation, to ensure that the public votes to continue to tax itself for open space in the future, some/a little/not enough conservation are not ideal but significantly better than none. dailycamera.com

Dont be fooled by a slick web site. Unscrupulous breeders and even outright scams can be represented by professional looking web sites that lure you in with fraudulent pictures of adorable puppies. At the very least speak with the breeder on the telephone and ideally meet the breeder, the puppy and the dam in person. If you locate a breeder online, never send money without checking their references and credentials first. The AKC recommends that you first contact the national organization or the breed (Parent Club). It is essential to visit the breeder at their home to see the entire litter and the care and conditions given to the puppies prior to purchasing. www.beaumontjournal.com
To find out how and why, you have to listen to her talk about her writing. Ever since she was a child, growing up in Suffolk, writing was something she yearned to do: an inchoate ambition she didnt act on until she turned 20. Even when she did, nothing happened: the first two novels she finished were either leaden or too preachily feminist. The correspondence course that promised to "make you a writer or your money back" didnt get her anywhere (and had a neat small-print exclusion that allowed the company to hang on to her money). Writing competitions saw her sending off endless entries without ever making the grade, even as a runner-up. Her 30th birthday - the target shed set for gaining any kind of recognition that she might indeed have what it takes to be a writer - came and went. Ten years of trying, and nothing in print to living.scotsman.com

Finally, I was in the corner when she ceased, and just whenI thought what the F usd. pct. , R came closely to my face and whispered to me with some kind of ambivalentfeeling showingawkwardly on her face: You Fand* pct. er. Ihad 3-some with you , and you are telling me that you are NOT my best friend. ( Yes, I did have 3 some with her likefreaking 4 years ago, and we were all drunk, young , and STUPID. Just for the record, R initiated. ) In the middle of this chaoticand juvenaldrama, my mind was swirling up and down rapidly like some lost puppy was trying to find her way out of a maze, and simultaneously, I thought to myself, Oh shit. I am going to get slapped by a girl, AGAIN. Just as I was lifting my hands up to protect my face from the slap (probably the hardest slap I would ever have imprinted on my face), R held my arms , www.afterellen.com

That hit me right where it hurt. You need to know that the day my dad died he had been out training with me for my upcoming rowing match. He had complained that he was tired and weak, but I convinced him with my puppy-eye face to come anyway. Later on that day I found my dad lying on the ground, dying, and I had no idea what to do. I just stood there and watched him die. I dont remember too much beyond those few moments, but they remain so clear to me. I do recall that I started screaming for my mom and when she finally showed up it was probably too late. I remember her screaming at me to move, to call 911 or do something. Her screams turned into painful sobs as she held her dying husband in her arms. The whole time I just stood there and had this awful memory seared into my mind. www.thepeterboroughexaminer.com
The film revolves around Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) who must help the newly arrived Autobots find and protect a lost article while keeping it from the hands of those nasty Decepticons. The autobots are led by Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen) and want only to restore their planet and save their people. Megatron (voiced by Hugo Weaving) on the other hand just wants to wreak havoc on all who stand in his way. Add to that a panicked government and high school kids ready to step up and do what the educated adult can never seem to accomplish and you pretty much have the plot. But again this is a very fun ride; the main reason being that it does not take itself seriously. There are comic elements that make it tongue and cheek and unlike normal space invasions you find these ETs quite human at times. Including a sense of humor. www.bloggernews.net

Many years ago, I was laid up with a severe bout of pneumonia. Bed rest for a week at a minimum was ordered by my doctor (tip: never let your doctor become your friend life can become hell. ). As I tend to have the attention span of a 6 week old puppy, that was going to be difficult; I get bored to death in a bath. I had to find something to while away the time. This was before I owned a laptop, well before wireless networking and at about Word for Windows version 2. 0. My laptop was a Sharp Organiser that a forward thinking Melbourne company had written a synchronisation program for Windows 3. 0 that I was coincidentally reviewing for the original Reseller magazine. www.hydrapinion.com
