2008-05-31 Girly drinks got to go

A lot of guys have no intention of seeing the movie," says Joel Levesque, of Moosehead Breweries. "Not what youd call guys guys - guys who play in industrial hockey leagues and the guys who are sitting down with their buddies shooting pool and watching the playoffs. "

Instead of confronting pesky feminine empowerment, Moosehead says, 36 per cent of men "will be drinking beer or watching the hockey playoffs, while 28 per cent plan to walk the dog and 12 per cent will reaffirm their masculinity by pumping some iron at the gym. "

2008-05-17 Creative Loafing Tampa News Jeb Bush is back

His surrogates and former aides dot all of the important state government commissions. Look at the Taxation and Budget Reform Commission, for example. Commission member Patricia Levesque also serves as executive director for Bushs two foundations and was his deputy chief of staff when he was governor. Fellow commissioner Roberto "Bobby" Martinez was general counsel to Bushs 1998 transition team. And Brian Yablonski, a top official at the St. Joe Company, which owns tremendous amounts of Florida real estate, is a commissioner and on the board of directors at Bushs two foundations. (Oh, forgot to mention that he is also a former deputy chief of staff from the Bush Governors Office. )
