Members of the Environmental Health Committee of Fermanagh District Council heard that a number of complaints had been received by the Dog Warden with regard to dogs straying in the area. The Warden observed a black Labrador type dog straying and issued a fixed penalty in respect of this offence in March this year.
During this investigation, the Dog Warden also captured a male brown mongrel dog which was impounded. The dog was re-claimed by the owner and a fixed penalty notice issued in respect of the dog straying.

Callaghan is a friendly Labrador retriever who became lost and separated from his owner in Whistler. Somehow he ended up on a highway in the Vancouver suburb of Surrey, a distance of more than 150 kilometres away from his home.
The family quickly grew attached to the dog and with each passing day, it seemed unlikely anyone would claim the stray. But then, they got a call from a neighbour.

While Lady may just have days to live, the community is stepping in to help. Happy Trails, an Ocklawaha veterinarian clinic, is giving Lady cancer treatment at a reduced cost. Donations have poured in to the clinic to continue the dogs rehabilitation, and a local bar owner has scheduled a motorcycle charity ride for the dog on Sunday.
