Well Susan Horne, how good of you to speak for Old Waterford Knolls. Get it straight if you are going to do that. It isnt about "spoiling the view" . Many residents of OWK are dog lovers/owners. The issue with this location for a dog park is that no one appeared to be accountable for making sure dog waste is promptly removed. I love my dogs but would certainly not want their waste lingering near my home. As for other uses, if people wanted the noise associated with ball fields, they would have purchased a home backing up to one. By the way, do you ever drive down Old Waterford Road when there are games being played over near Ida Lee. It becomes almost impossible to pass through with cars parked literally on the road. Since you clearly support the denegration of my neighborhood, you are off my re-election list. " www.leesburg2day.com
Her owner, who had clearly put in the training on this dog was then ordered to pay a staggering 2500 and will have to pay for her dog to be tattooed and neutered. The crazy thing is, if she had signed her dog over to be killed, she probably wouldnt have been taken to court as it wouldnt have been in the public interest so all in all shes been fined for being responsible. Worst still it seems being a responsible owner of a good dog can cost you more than attending a dogfight. Last year 19 defendants, 14 of which pleaded guilty were fined between 500 and 1400 for attending a barbaric dogfight in Birmingham. www.dogmagazine.net

Having people walk their dogs in an area creates a vigilance that often cuts down on crime. Case in point, the logan circle area has gotten much better as the prostitutes, homeless, and drug addicts stop sleeping and crapping in this public circle because of the constant presents of dog walkers makes them uncomfortable. Further, drugs have been found in the actual circle area as well as on a bench of logan circle by dog people. Since that day we tread carefully around each other. I keep looking back at the last half year and wondering where we went wrong Linda keeps trying to tell me that it isnt our fault. That sometimes even with good parents, some dogs just turn bad. But I know thats not it. Its us. Its me. There was a pivotal point somewhere and I missed it. He needed to see an overtime period and I made him go outside, or he wanted to wear my Yzerman jersey and I dragged it away from him and put it on. I failed him somewhere. And this is my punishment. Last night I dreamed the season started and Lind and I were cheering the anthem before the game. I looked over to her and smiled, and then something caught my eye. It was Rocky, sitting as pretty as a picture with his tail wagging. WEARING A CROSBY JERSEY. I woke to the sound of my own fans.nhl.com
In my twenties, when I wrote my first book, The Dogs, which was about growing up in the world of greyhound racing, I went to Walthamstow all the time. There was nowhere that I would rather have been. It was a terribly unlucky place for me, gambling-wise, but that couldnt have mattered less. What I liked was simply being there, in the midst of things, feeling around me all the rough good-nature, hearing the shouts of the bookmakers and the whining of the dogs in the traps, watching as the lights of the track gradually encroached upon the night. On a busy Saturday night it felt like the most alive place in the world: a magical palais of urban dreams, as I described it in my book. www.guardian.co.uk

We think it does. I dont think it would work for everyone, but it works for us because most people at Naughty Dog are pretty senior, and passionate about what they do. I think that makes it easier, but its still very chaotic working like this. It can be crazy and no. x2013; we dont have formalised sign-off processes so sometimes people can get slightly out of the loop. We have to have this informal contract between us so that we wont get too bent out of shape with each other if we do step on each others toes, and everyone has to just stay very sane. But it has this tremendous advantage in that it lets us make good decisions on the fly, and move through things very quickly and change direction as we go. ps3.ign.com
We got a dog when I was 3 months pregnant and after much deliberation chose to get a Labrador from a breeder. Im with you Sacha, there are so many abandoned dogs out there who need homes, but we have heard so many stories of people who are assured that their puppy is a cocker spaniel/miniature schnauzer cross and after 6 months they realise it is actually a pitbull/great dane or border collie/kelpie. We also found that many of the pound dogs (and we looked on several occasions) were working dogs (requiring far more exercise than we could commit to) mastiff/bull terrier crosses (not around a baby - I dont care what people say about their adorable pitbull Flossie, Im not having one in my home) or little terriers or lapdogs (just no). blogs.smh.com.au

It started that morning. Everything was liver snacks until her cherished yellow ball went over a cliff in her native Malibu. That ball. (She couldnt go on with this part of the story and excused herself for a moment. I thought I heard a yelp over the phone line. Then she returned. ) Her ball was gone. She needed a change of scene. The exquisite sight of the sun-sparkled water and beach and the bluffs that had taken her ball were too awful to bear. She decided to go to Echo Park, because she had heard that it was dirty and that it was a place with artists, inspired people. Losses such as hers require inspiration. (Deep sigh) Later that night, she finds herself at the Little Joy, and it first it was just what the veterinarian ordered: Lots of energy and appetite. Good music, cheap dog biscuits and beer. Charlie admits to never having groomed a dog before and being rattled by the task. His dogs fur is puffy and he mistakenly creates a haphazard puffball for the doggys mama. I like Dees choice to glean inspiration from her pups spiked tail to create an edgy look for her human client. With Renes prodding, Nicole cuts more than six inches of hair from her client to mirror her dogs short do. She also cleverly adds highlights the same shade as her dogs fur. Daniel adds hair pieces to his dog to make her a Cali Valley Girl. How much is that doggie in the window Looks pretty cheap to me. Rene hovers over Nekisa and critiques every bad step she takes. From the canine bangs and the unevenly trimmed fur to the last-minute dye job and the crazy curls her client cant stand, everything is just plain wrong. Renes presence www.cinemablend.com

I send Jack Mayne, the BNT editor, the column on Friday or Saturday, along with an optional photo. Last week I was torn between sending the picture of the man or the dog. I had a friend who works in publication help me choose. We were tempted by the photo of the man looking most like his dog, but it wasnt flattering (to the man). There were some photos of the dog in silhouette but they didnt capture a certain character (in the dog). So I sent both photos to Jack to let him choose, writing a capture for neither. Learned my lesson - good thing Id fudged on my weight anyway. Jack also ran a photo of Ed (he has been in business longer than 38 years - thats just how many years hes been on Ballard Avenue). blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com
