From Alki Beach to Seacrest Park in West Seattle, residents, bicyclists, pedestrians and dogs took advantage of the last of the three city-sponsored Car Free Days.

Last months car-free event on Capitol Hill caught some motorists by surprise, with authorities issuing citations to 21 vehicle owners and towing about a dozen of those cars.
People gathered along Alki Beach on Sunday to enjoy the last of the three city-sponsored "Car Free Days. " Mayor Greg Nickels introduced the idea to encourage people to give their cars a rest and to help the environment.
