PLYMOUTH The Plymouth Cordage Museum hopes the public can help solve a mystery. The museum is cataloguing information on people who worked for the Cordage rope factory from the day the first employees were hired in 1824 to the day the factory closed in 1971. Eight thousand names have been listed. However, some names have been lost. Up until the 1940s, records were kept in the Cordage Tower. But when the company ceased to exist, part of this information went to Harvard University and a portion went to Mystic Seaport. The rest of the information is missing, and the search is on. 8The staff at the museum is asking the public to help locate the missing records so a copy can be made and the project completed. If you have information, and can help solve this mystery, call Curator William Rudolph at 508-746-7707.

Thats hardly a commercial to win the show a last-season surge of new viewers, but "Battlestar" isnt about to turn superficial. It also has some of the most interesting female characters on television, chief among them Mary McDonnell as President Laura Roslin, a character who has dealt with a terminal cancer diagnosis, religious visions, an intense showdown with Adama and the difficult decision to go against her principles and outlaw abortion -- a decision made because of the statistics that show the human race is dying faster than it is propagating. "The show has never shied away from the most wrenching issues," McDonnell said. "In fact, thats what the show is all about. "
