Plaka Caf, a Monroe Street restaurant that sells gyros and hot dogs, was charged with tax evasion earlier this year after the state discovered it had no record that the restaurant had ever paid sales taxes, said assistant attorney general Jessica Hodgson.
The state says the business owed usd. 1. 5 million in sales taxes dating back to 1995, the farthest its records go. The restaurant opened in the 1980s.
The offer was meant to give the casino a cash infusion or being put up for sale by the Gaming Control Board.
