Allis0nr0driguez Im not sure if youre aware that Pit Bulls are a "Fighting" breed, not a "wonderful breed". Dogs are ANIMALS and do not know the difference between right and wrong, they act on instincts. No matter how well you train, treat, or love the animal, they will act on INSTICTS sooner or later. Its obvious Mr Smallwood was never attacked by his animals, or he wouldnt still have them. Check into the story about the Maryville woman last year who was mauled by her Pit Bulls, all witnesses reported that she never had problems with her dogs until that fateful day. You play with fire long enough you will get burned. I dont know about everyone else, but its not worth taking the risk on a DOG that might kill someone. www.knoxnews.com

Many people are not aware that storm drains discharge directly into the creek so most everything that goes into our gutters goes into our creek (and eventually into the ocean) without treatment of any kind. Bacteria, motor oil, antifreeze, discarded paints and pesticides, weed killers and fertilizers wash into the creek with runoff from rainfall. "We can all be part of the solution to reduce impacts to San Pedro Creek," said Christine Chan, Coalition Watershed project coordinator. "There are simple things that we can do, like picking up after our dogs that would significantly reduce pollution and improve the health of the creek. Although we have completed our MST study, we plan to continue to work with the city, county and state agencies as well as Pacifica residents to mitigate and solve the pollution problems affecting San www.pacificatribune.com

The principles of leadership dont exist with this government. If say the health dept were doing a great job, the govt would sing praise to good government and the minister would bask in the glory of it. Why is it, that when there are problems, its a game of handballing. That decrepid circus in spring street needs a reality check. The health minister comes across as someone that shouldnt have any more responsibility than changing a light globe. She would have to be the most dim witted clown Ive ever had the pleasure of viewing on TV. Lucky theres no aptitude test for govt. because none of them would be there based on their qualifications. When will the bracks circus realise that we have senior public servants who are qualified to make the best decisions. blogs.theage.com.au

If emotions ran health care - coming here soon. More than one parent lamenting their kid(s) w/ "special needs", autism, pick-your-disability, that takes lots of time to deal with and costs lots of usd. usd. usd. and is not covered by their health insurance (if they even HAVE health insurance). Complaints about Medicaid or Medicare coverage (mostly Medicaid), but probably not realizing that Medicaid is a GIFT compared to having nothing. Or the political statements made at the microphones (mostly in prepared text) blasting George Bush, Tom Tancredo, or the Evil Insurance Companies for all of Colorados health care woes. Or the provider "Associations" and others with dogs in the fight who present arguments designed to direct the eventual heath care usd. usd. usd. to their little corners of the world. All living in a world where the health care solutions to all their problems must seem. well so SIMPLE. denver.yourhub.com

It is true, as the old saying goes that Whats sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander, then perhaps medicine should accept the inevitability of competing ways to deliver health care, especially given widespread reports of physician shortages. A system in which all providers of health care cooperate to achieve the levels of access, quality, convenience, and outcomes for health care that most agree we should strive for would seem better than one looking more like dogs fighting over a bone. www.worldhealthcareblog.org
Executive District Officer (Health) Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal, when contacted by Daily Times, said that the campaign of killing stray dogs was in progress. He, however, admitted that any progress in this regard was very slow. District Health Officer Dr Rafiq Ahmed said that the health teams were busy in killing stray dogs, but the department was facing acute shortage of staff for the task. Dog shooters are not available and killing of stray dogs with the help of poisoned meat takes a lot of time as the dogs are in huge numbers, he added. www.dailytimes.com.pk
