The fight happened last Tuesday on Cherry Lane in Haw River. The dogs fought the raccoon and animal control was called to the property. After tests, they found out the raccoon was rabid. One of the dogs is current on his rabies shots and just had to get a rabies booster shot. The others rabies shots had lapsed and it had to be euthanized.
