Just like every other park in LITH, the dog park has a right to exist. There are baseball diamonds, soccer fields, plans for football fields, skateboard park and beaches. Why should there not be a place for people to enjoy their dogs. This dog park is a place where dog owners can gather and let their furry friends run and play. The friendships made among the owners are lasting ones based on common interests. A comment was made that if you do not have the space for a dog, then you should not have a dog. Oh come on. I live in a house and have a big yard, but nothing compares with having a large area for the dog to run and to be with other dogs. A typical yard, while nice is not enough for a dog to really open up in. Should we say that parks for children are not necessary because if you dont have room for them at your www.nwherald.com
You go, Ms. Isenburg and friends. It is clear to so many of us that there are better ways to go about this dog park implementation than what is now in the works. ARD has loads of undeveloped land at Regional Park alone. not to mention some at other locations as well. Why are they not trying to use these private "doggy" funds to develop a piece of THAT land, instead of using it to fence off a huge chunk of an already useable and useful and USED people park I would be 100 pct. behind dog park plans at an undeveloped site--I would likely even donate money and volunteer at fundraiser events. We have a very generous and wealthy community that would undoubtedly ante up the financial support needed to get THAT kind of dog park started, and then if could be refined over time. Dogs truly dont need much to be happy (realistically, they www.auburnjournal.com
The first, of course, is the dog park located in the northwestern corner of Loring Park, in a 10,000 square-foot grassy area between Joes Garage and the Minneapolis Community and Technical College. Construction on the Loring Park Dog Grounds began , and its slated for completion by early-to-mid June. The area will be enclosed with a fence, feature a water fountain for dogs and include a number of large limestone rocks where pet owners can sit while watching their dog play or that canines can use as climbing apparatuses. A steel bridge that doesnt go over or attach to anything - and is appropriately named The Bridge to Erehwon, which is "nowhere" spelled backward - will also be placed in the park for the climbing pleasure of active pooches. www.swjournal.com
Currently I am living in Hong Kong and have kept my home in the Highlands. Cherokee Park is a jewel without alot of comparison anywhere you may travel. In HK, you cannot take a dog into any public park, as well as no bicycles, skateboards, smoking, you name it. It is an absurd response to inconsiderate people. The only area you may take dogs is in the country parks that are usually very difficult to get to, and are very rugged. Most do not own cars and you cannot take dogs on public transportation. I guess the point here is that please respect others that may be in the park that dont participate in the activities you are participating whether bicycling, running, in-line skating, walking your dog, etc. The response of authorities is usually overboard and hurts the total community feeling and feeling of being in a great park. www.courier-journal.com

The woman on the blog is a sick b*tch. "poison bones" she writes Thats serious. Because she doesnt want to obey a LAW she should hurt animals now The dog park people keep an eye on things. like speeders so kids and dogs dont get killed on the curve. Someone needs to post a warning and that blog entry at the park so that the dog owners can be wary. Anyone who would hurt an innocent animal b/c they cant speed to get to wherever they want to go is a sick F*ck. Be careful at the park. Many dogwalkers take dogs there as do many residents. This is really scarey. Get her name and address and photo and post it in the park so if anyone sees her there they can call the police. I would do it but Im not in town right now. I will call a walker I know. if anyone else goes there please spread the word. Thanks la.curbed.com
I have to agree with alot of people about this issue. First, why do 50 people care about fiddo going to a park, but never show to see how their hard earned money is spent on budget day. Second, why is this a big issue The city has the land, and they also have land on the lake in stewart park. I think the city and county have alot bigger problems to solve besides this pct. * pct. ing dog park. Third, If i had 2 acers in the city or close to the city, I would open the dog park and charge, That brings me to the final point, again the city is trying to figure a way to give something to the people. open the dog park and sell admission on a seasonal basis to pay for the park. this way the 50 poeple that want the park dont burden the rest of the city tax payers that either dont have a dog or could give to craps about the park in general, www.theithacajournal.com

Good one, "Spot". Our French Bulldog has voiced much the same concern. But, how to get the public on board He says: Cela fait plusieurs jours que ce probleme-me tracasse. I think he means that the problem has been dogging him for days. On the other hand, if he had his way, calling him a "Canine French/American" would only give him an excuse to force us to take him to the park and inflict him on the public. Much like we do now with our grandkids. Who, although they dont swim and poop in Miller Park lake would, like our dog, love to do so. In any event, our dog Scat would love to sign your petition. Please let him know where and when to sign up. And thanks for a good laugh. " www.pantagraph.com

The goal of the Neighborhood Dog Park Watch program is to enhance the quality of Gwinnett County parks through an alliance between park patrons, Neighborhood Park Watch volunteers, Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation, and the Gwinnett County Park Police. By serving as an extra pair of eyes and ears, members of the Neighborhood Dog Park Watch can help make the parks safer for park visitors and their pets. The program involves citizens in the observation, caring, and protection of dog parks in order to enhance safety in these areas. www.theweekly.com

If this gentleman doesnt like noise around him, he should have moved to a home that has NO neighbors in the woods somewhere. If you want to live in a secluded area, buy a home with a lot of land, or go live in an adult community somewhere. There is a baseball field at the entrance to the park, I am sure that that is not new. Does that bother him as well It used to be a playground. Little kids on a playground make a lot more noise than dogs. I have been to this park many times and most people go out of their way to make sure the dogs are quiet. To keep folks out during off hours, the gates should simply just be locked. Does he complain when his neighbors kids are playing outside I guess this should be expected from single man who still lives at home with his mother. He feels the park is an invasion of his www.thesunchronicle.com
To be fair, the city must not drag its feet on creating a new dog park. A lengthy process will only serve to frustrate and anger dog park users, something neither side needs at this point of an already contentious process. We understand the concerns and reservations some council members have about a permanent dog park. But next month, or shortly after the New Year, the city and public need to sit down and work through the questions so this issue can finally be put to rest. Included in those concerns is the fact the residents from outside the city of Ithaca use the park. This question has a simple answer follow our suggestions and charge a fee for a permit for dog park users and charge non-city residents slightly more. www.theithacajournal.com
